Maine Nigerian Dwarf Farm

I am not sure how to use this forum but I'll just jump in.  I joined a while ago after I acquired a small herd of five.  They include a buck, a wether, a pregnant doe, a milker and her buckling.  The pregnant doe has quickly won my heart as she is quiet and loves to walk around with me.  Yesterday when husband opened the kitchen door she came in and visited briefly!
We have lots of land (70 acres) but need to put up some fencing so I can get them to take advantage of the wonderful, natural browse that is available.
Babies are due the end of the month although she does not look very big.  I can't wait.
When I had Nubians, new babies were the most fun.
I just turned 67 and this has been my best birthday present ever!

  • Hello from Maine!
  • Congratulations on the new herd! Babies are my favorite part of goats too! Be sure to tell us when she kids and post pictures. There is a special Baby Announcement section in the forum.
