Hi all, I was wondering if anyone here has experience using the equine paste Ivermectin. I suspect lungworm in my two Nigerian does and would prefer to treat with the paste since it is more economical than the injectable or drench. I am having a hard time figuring out how to measure out such a small amount of the paste, plus I have read conflicting information about how much to give goats (two times the horse dosage? three times?) I searched the forum for this info and couldn't find it, so thought I would ask. Any insights would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Assuming the horse ivermectin is 1.87%, and the cattle ivermectin is 1%... You normally double the cattle dose. Since the horse med is almost twice as strong already, you only need a little more than the regular horse dosage. However, lots of people have doubled it over the years, including me, because that's what was and still is commonly suggested online, and I didn't actually bother to do the math initially. Luckily, ivermectin is not easily overdosed. Not sure if I'd triple the dosage though. I hadn't heard that. I have heard people tripling Safeguard for horses, and that drug does have a huge safety margin.
