Introduction

Hi my name is Jessica.  I am new to the forum.  I will be asking a lot of questions.  My husband John and I brought our first two Nigerian Dwarf Goats home yesterday.  One boy and one girl, they are 6 months old.  We kept them in a stall last night as they were skittish to their new home (as to be expected) I have read.  Today, we spent most of the day outside with them in there new home, which was a horse turnout.

We purchased a home and built a 3-12'x13' stall horse barn/ building 36'x 41'.  We decided we were not going to get a horse.  We instead purchased a jenny donkey.

Our hobby farm consists of chickens, guineas, turkeys, a donkey, and now the dwarf goats.  We would like to breed the goats.  We absolutely love them.

We are going to start the playground for them tomorrow.  They have warmed up to us today, and seem to like their large area; it's about 40' x 50' open area with their own stall.

We are hoping the donkey warms up to them, she is a sweetheart but remained at bay today.

  • Very striking pair; they would be beautiful as a carting pair.

  • That would be awesome, we just purchased this place in March and don't know many people here. Your visit would be welcome.

Welcome, Jessica! Your babies are crazy cute. You live about 40 minutes from my in-laws; care for a Spring Break visit from a fellow newbie?
