horns

Is there a website or pictures of  nigerians and the development of their horns.  I mean, I've seen pictures of nigerians goats and they have huge horns...  I figured that there must be a way to see year by year the size of their horns to determine actual age?

  • You bet...when he started getting a little bucky and I found out what he was capable of...  I didn't want babies so yes, I finally made the right decision  hehehehe.

  • He is a cute little thing ... with great big ol' horns! I bet you're glad you castrated your guy now!

  • that would scare me to death... looks like what...the angora with the long hair?  I think those horns could do some damage..

  • Here is an older pygmy buck:

  • Don't know what breed he is, but check out the horns on this boy:

Does do not get horns like that.

  • he was castrated two months ago..  that's good then I don't want them bigger :-)

  • If your buck was castrated, he's technically a wether, not a buck. Lack of testosterone slows down horn growth so they probably won't get much bigger than does. I forgot to mention that I've also seen pygmies and pygoras with horns and actually owned two for a few months many year ago. I've seen pygmy bucks with huge horns.

  • You can see in my pics that they are all pretty much the same size...

  • I've mostly seen pictures of angoras and boers, but I've never seen a picture of a doe with horns more than maybe eight inches long, but bucks can have horns that are two feet! They start curling and going out to the side at some point.

    Google "goat horn images"
