Hello..I'm new to the forum from NY

My name is Karen & we live in the Central NY area. I'm not new to farming, but I'm new to goats. We raise miniature horses & Llamas. I have been doing a lot of research on the Nigerian Dwarf goats & cant wait to start raising them. If any of you know some good breeders close by to me..I would love to hear about them. I'm looking for flashy blue eyed does/doelings, but brown eyes are fine too. I'm looking forward to milking & trying to make cheese.,..lol

Thanks...Karen

  • Thanks for the welcome Deborah. We have been raising Llamas now for 7 years. We have 3 females & I male. They are wonderful animals & do a great job keeping everyone safe.
  • Welcome! In addition to our goats (and sheep and poultry and . . . ) we have seven llamas. We started with four as guardians of our sheep and goats (two for each flock/herd), and we were so impressed that we got two females to start breeding our own replacements.

We have some goats available, although you'll probably be able to find some closer. But some people don't mind driving or shipping via air. I already have goats going to Ohio and Texas this year.
  • Well come on back! Then I can buy your 2 does...lol

    Thanks for the Welcome..
  • Welcome Karen! My hubby is from the Rochester area and he went to college at Cornell. He would love to move back to that area.
