Welcome to the group! The only bad thing about goats is that they're like potato chips -- you just want more and more! :) The only real challenge is fencing. Don't even think about using strands of electric. Yes, some goats will respect it, but it only takes one to teach your whole herd how to go through it. Livestock panels, woven wire, and Electronet are all good options for does. Livestock panels and ElectroNet work for bucks. I have an FAQ page on my website with answers to basic questions about living with goats. I don't know how far north Mequon is, but I'm in Illinois and have a goat care class coming up a the end of August. Another couple from Wisconsin has already signed up!
