Health Question Regarding My Wether Hansel

When I went out to the barn today, I noticed lots of unmarbled poo all over the stall. After a few moments I realized that it was my wether Hansel making the messy poo. I checked the other three and they all marbled normally. He is acting normal otherwise; jumped on Goose like he always does, ran with the herd out to thier pen, and ate cornshucks, weeds, and grass on the way out.

Some info to know: He was dewormed with Ivermetion on Friday May 6th. Also, they have been on a new grazing system recently. They usually have a movable pen which only gives them enough grass for the day and then I move it again the next day. However, I have been putting them on our overgrown dirt hills to mow them down, which gives them more grass than they usually get. The first hill they are on usually lasts them three days. I put them on the first one Friday, then they were in for two days because of rain, and they went out yesterday. I put them out again today because by the time I realized something different about Hansel, I already had the herd excited to go out.

Any advice on my little guy would be very much appriciated!!!

  • Thank you Deborah!! I hope that is the case. When checking the eyelids on them Friday, he had the darkest color, so I guess that is why I was concerned about him when I saw the poop. He is outsite right now walking around with the rest of the goats, mad because he is out on the same pasture for the third day!!
  • Clumpy poop usually means they have a high worm load, but using dewormer can cause them to poop differently for a day. It even gives some goats diarrhea for a few hours. He'll probably be back to normal by the end of today or tomorrow.
