Deborah,
In your book, I am pretty sure I read it in there, you say that goats should have access to hay pretty much 24/7. I have hay available in our barns where the goats are when not out on pasture but currently do not have hay out in the pasture. Our pasture is an overgrown power line area made up of blackberry brambles, long leaf pine tree saplings (which the goats just love), and other such brushy and weedy things. Do I need to offer hay to the goats while they are out in this pasture? They are there for around 4-6 hours a day. The rest of the time they are in their barn areas where they do have access to hay.

sounds like there is enough browse in the pasture to keep them busy and full.
