Hay Question

I'm a little unclear about what type of hay to feed in the winter for  Kentucky. I have seen just hay, "grass" hay and "alfalfa" hay. I have a doe and wether that is about 9 months old. They are both in the same area and it will be hard to keep their hay separated so I need something they both can have to eat. Thanks all!

  • Wethers and dry does should have grass hay. Does in milk should have alfalfa for maximum production, but plenty of does milk without alfalfa. Don't buy something just labeled "hay." They should tell you what's in it.
