Goats got into feed!

Went out to the barn to milk this evening and discovered many of them had gotten into the feed room!  Not sure how they got in (probably let in by our clever and sneaky wether) nor how long they were there, but 8 goats can do significant damage in 3 minutes so the mess in the room was no indication of time spent there!  The only feed that they could get into was the kids' feed which contains a coccidiastat that I know the milking does cannot eat.   I need to assume they did.  I will be watching for bloat since it's not their normal ration, but do I need to toss their milk?  For how long - a day or two?

  • Yes. You do need to toss their milk. What drug is in the feed? You can check the farad.com website for drug withdrawal, as that's the first place I'd check, and I won't be back online tonight.
