EmLab Pregnancy tests

I recently ordered pregnancy tests through EmLab and I wanted to share my exciting results!! It's the only test to my knowledge that uses urine. You add one mL of urine to the tube and if it turns green-blue it's positive. If it stays yellow it is negative. A pack of 10 cost $20.00. With shipping it comes out to $2.50 per test and you get immediate results!! I decided to sacrifice one for my preliminary testing and used urine from a goat that I was pretty sure was pregnant (vial on left, bred the first week in May) and a doe that I knew was NOT pregnant. I am so thrilled with how easy it was to use. Has anyone else used this test? What was your experience?

Here is where I got mine: http://www.emlabgenetics.com/Pages/PTEST.aspx

It took about a week to get here.

  • Yes that's exactly why I was so thrilled. Mailing in the tests gets very expensive, especially because I stagger my breedings so I can't mail them all at once. The blue instantly turned blue and the non-pregnant urine never turned blue at all. I let them sit on the kitchen counter for a little while and after about 30 minutes the blue faded to a dirty urine color lol.

Awesome! Thanks so much for sharing! I'll definitely be buying some. This is even better than the milk test because it can be done on does not in milk, and the results are instant! The milk test is $1.50 each, but you have to mail in the milk, which adds considerably to the cost because you have the supplies, special mailing box with styrofoam insert, and postage.

  • This is so cool! Thanks for letting us know about this. I hate the "is she or isn't she" waiting period.
