We have a doe that is pregnant and has very dry, flaky skin. My husband has looked at the flakes under the microscope and says that he cannot see lice. The flaky skin is even above her eye lids and under her chin. Is there something to give her? Would black sunflower seeds provide enough oil to help? I don't want to bathe her in this weather and with her being pregnant. Any suggestions?

I had a buck like that this summer. I oiled him up with a blend of sunflower and olive oils, and I gave him sunflower seeds in his feed for the next week or two. That seemed to do the trick. I was surprised it was that easy to take care of. Maybe I just got lucky.
