  • Just as an FYI, I was looking for the same info on CyLence and I am now thinking about the Tea Tree Oil. I looked on the oneplanetnatural.com and it says that they are closed.. Bummer, but I did find quite a few other sites that have the steam-distilled tea tree oil. I just realized that my nigerians have the goat lice, I'm not sure if it's biting or sucking lice, but I recognize the nits behind their ears. I will definitely be trying the tea tree, thanks for the advice :-)

  • I will get some for future use! I would much rather use a natural vs chemical approach. Thanks!

    Hello Kristen,

I just realized that I gave you the wrong dosage for the tea tree oil, not one oz. of oil per 4-6 oz. of water but 1/8 to 1/4 of an oz. of oil.  that is if you would like to consider a natural remedy.  But we have used up to one oz. of oil per 6 oz. of water on our chickens when they have had a bad infestation of poultry lice and are having good results.  And when I tried to explain about lice being host specific, I didn't explain everything correctly, ole' foggy mind today....lol, host specific means that there is a particular species of lice for each animal they live on, with that said we as people can not get lice from a goat or our chickens. Tea tree will also kill mites, and oh there have been good results with using lavender essential oil too,  just remember to get oil that has been processed by steam distillation.  Best to you in getting rid of those pest no matter what remedy you use. Take care.

  • Fias Co Farm says 1 cc per 25 lbs.

  • I haven't used it, but I've thought about it. They recommended it at U of I last year when found a tick on a buck took down there. I don't remember the dosage.
