  • I don't personally have a camel, but I know someone who does. She's bought several goats from me, and I got to meet her camel last summer. When I got home, I did actually google "camels for sale." They're not as expensive as I thought they'd be -- only a couple thousand.

I was doing research for my book a couple weeks ago when I learned that it is challenging to make cheese with camel milk. Apparently, you can buy it in New York City, however, for $30 a pound! Cheese made with yak milk is fifth most popular, behind cow, water buffalo, goat, and sheep.
  • I don't think I want to contemplate milking a camel.
  • Have you got a camel Deborah? It seems like it would not surprise me if you did have on how did you discover that?
  • Yes, anything that you can make with cow milk, you can make with goat milk. The taste might be different, but it all works. I've even made yogurt with sheep milk. It was insanely rich! I would have said that you can make any kind of dairy product with any kind of milk, but I recently learned that making cheese with camel milk is a bit challenging, because it does not form curds like most other milks.
