Count Down

The two does I purchased recently are in their last week of pregnancy. Lucy is quite big and her udder is coming along nicely. She spends most of her days trying to get comfortable. She is a 2nd freshener. Westie a FF is developing a sweet well attached udder and certainly looks like two. Her background is great for milk production. I can hardly stand it. Next weekend we are at day 146 on Saturday.

  • We're all in this together! My Agnes is at day 141 today, so sounds like exactly the same as your doe, Jan! She's a first freshener and has a cute little udder already, so I'm really excited. I am so hoping she has her mama's long teats!
  • Hooray for you!

I am in the count-down part too.My FF and 1st for me is due on Mon.12.She looks like she will have a nice udder. My 2nd FF is due in a couple more weeks.I am excited and a little nervous.I am hoping everything goes smoothly.I have been reading all the goat forums like mad.The things I am most worried about is dealing with disbudding and whethering and finding homes for the kids.It seems no one in my area practices disbudding. And there is hardly anyone around me with nigerians anyway. If it weren't for this group I'd feel really in the dark on this project. Thanks for all the info.
