I posted about my yearling buck having some health concerns. Things are more under control now thankfully! I have wormed him with Ivomec and believe after much reading and observing him that he had mites. He is looking much better now already after 2 days! He is also very copper deficient (again after much reading and learning) Today I bolused him with 2grams. How much copper can i give him and how often to help him get back on track? He is about 50lbs. He has all symptoms of deficiency, loss of hair on ears, black to rust coat, fish tail..

You really just have to keep an eye on him and see how often he needs it. I have to do it every three months. By the fourth month, all of the goats have the fading coat, fish tails, etc. We have sulfur in our water and our goats only have alfalfa (no grass) during the winter, so that makes it pretty bad. Alfalfa is high in molybdenum, which is another copper antagonist.
Glad to hear he's already improving!
