I agree with both of you, and that's one reason I quit vaccinating. Everyone I knew who'd ever had a goat die from enterotoxemia had vaccinated, but nobody follows the manufacturer's recommendations, so it's probably not working anyway in most cases. In ten years now, we've only lost one goat to it, and it was through a mistake made by an intern last summer who fed bad feed. We're lucky we didn't lose more.
A lot of dog and cat vaccines are sold in single dose bottles, probably because they couldn't get away with the situation in dogs and cats.
A lot of vets say that giving the first dose prior to a month is probably a waste if the dam was vaccinated. The other part of the manufacturer's directions that just about everyone ignores is that they say you should use the entire contents when first opened, which means that you aren't supposed to give a few doses today, a few next week, a few next month, and so on.
A kid won't really get tetanus at the time of disbudding because the iron is 1000 degrees, which kills every germ out there. The risk of tetanus comes when the scab starts to come off in a few weeks because that's an anaerobic environment, which is where tetanus thrives.

Ok thank you.
I think if they want you to use the entire contents when you first open it, they ought to sell single dose bottles.
Here is the manufacturer's instructions:

When do you first give CD/T?
Hey guys...the bottle just says "2ml" with no "per body weight".
Is that the right dose for 8 week old kids? What do adults get? Thanks!
Almost everything with goats is sub-q.
