Can parasites from goats transfer to humans?

I am wondering if parasites, lice etc. from goats or sheep could be transferable to humans and if so how can this be prevented? We do not have any goats or sheep at this point but we are wanting them in the near future. Thank you for any insight on this!

    That is exactly what my vet told me when my does had with lice a couple of months after breeding the first time, thankfully confined to their backs and not their entire bodies.  (Since my young doe didn't have them and they didn't earlier, I was certain it was from the bucks and let my breeder know so she could treat the bucks.)  Just check their backs (spines) often so you catch them early if they do get them.

    Nope! There are hundreds of different species of lice, and they are all species specific in terms of hosts. In other words, goat lice only survive on goats, chicken lice on chickens, etc. You will, unfortunately, still see some people say that chickens can give lice to goats, but that does not happen.
