On another thread, that same person just recommended beer for urinary blockage! (The goat owner's vet told her it would cost thousands of dollars to "fix" it.)
Argh! I can't believe the beer advice. Obviously that person thinks it's a cure-all. Something ailing your goat? Just give it a beer. This is why I try to stay away from the Facebook group, but I certainly applaud y'all who are brave enough to read the posts and try to offer sane advice.
It was in responses to a question asked at the facebook group "Nigerian Dwarf Goat News, Info, Discussions and WEEKEND Sales." The poster has multiple problems with her three-week-old kids purchased at three days of age. She had three separate initial questions and relayed her visit to the vet. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10153940782903781&set=g...
I think you are a member of that group, Deborah, as are many of the members here which is why I added the link rather than copy the info. The poor person has gotten a lot of bad advice and I question some of the advice that she received on that group but especially the beer thing. She did stop feeding cold milk earlier (from what I think I read near the end of the thread).

^^Ha ha, yeah. I have a friend who thinks that about milk kefir. It does help in some cases, though.
Reminds me of the father in My Big Fat Greek Wedding -- he thought Windex cured everything. LOL!

Wow! Never heard that one! or that you should only feed cold milk. Goats in nature don't drink beer or cold milk. :-/ What's the context for this?
Between that and "Only feed cold milk to kids" that poor woman is getting all kinds of "helpful" advice.
I'm glad you posted this!! I saw that post and found it VERY strange. I'm curious to see what Deborah thinks.
