Hi guys...
I discovered what's the matter with my poor little goats, why they wouldn't go out and forage in their pasture. After sitting with them a few afternoons I realized that each time they head out they get swarmed by fire ants and so they just hang out at the gate. I had treated the farm before they came but we must have just had a new queen fly in or something because we are suddenly overrun. I am working on the other pasture with bait and will move them asap...
So, when I had her at the vet my doe was very pale and the vet gave her a B vit shot and did a fecal. She does not have a heavy parasite load anymore, I think she said there were 3 eggs on the slide or something like that. Anyway, she said it was fine. But she recommended I get her on a supplement to help with the anemia so I got Redcell.
The boys have great color now, though I did deworm the baby again with Ivermectin....but anyway, I just rechecked my doe and she is still so pale! I gave her 2cc's of RedCell 2x a day for about five days, then i switched her to once a day. I think it's been 2 weeks or so. Maybe a bit less. (since the vet visit, the vitamin shot, and she's been on the RedCell).
Thoughts? She is spunky and bright besides this.
