I wanted to start a discussion about my unusual situation with my doe who is due this week (3rd freshening) who looks like she'll have 4 or 5 kids. She had a most unusual heat-- was in standing heat for a full 5 days! Her first day she was bred and stood 3 times. Next day she was out there at the buck gate again, so was bred 3 times again. Nothing too unusual about that. But then for 3 MORE days she repeated the same thing wanting to stand for the buck again. And in fact she DID stand and was bred multiple times over 5 days (all hand breeding). I kept thinking she wasn't settling so I let her do it again and again. Later when she started getting big at 3 months bred, I started to think, maybe she actually ovulated for several days... and that's why each day she was bred, she had released another egg or two. What are your thoughts on that? Is that even possible? She looks like she's going to have quite a litter... Anyone experienced this? And if so, what was the outcome? She's due this week.

That is unusual. It's not something that I've experienced here. She doesn't look quite as deep as most of the does I've had who had five in there, so hopefully she's not going to have some crazy high number.
