My little wether got caught up in the milk stanchion and hurt himself and was lame, both front and back legs. A few days later, the other goats in the herd began pushing him down. After a week in isolation, he is not better and can only stand if you prop him up and place his front legs directly under him. He can't walk on the front legs and they only buckle under him and he takes a nose dive. He can use his back legs a little better. He eats and drinks well. Could he have CAE? Is there any hope for this little guy?

We saw the vet and we have three steroid shots to give for three days. All the joints seem to be moving fine. The problem seems to be in the neck area. So, we will see if the shots help. Thank you for your reply.
CAE does not manifest itself as arthritis in kids. Besides that, the odds of him getting arthritis at the moment he got caught in a milk stand are pretty close to zero. Sounds like he really hurt himself in the milk stand. I would suggest seeing a vet. He could have torn a ligament or broken a bone -- or two. Several years ago I had a doe kid injure her shoulder. The x-ray didn't show anything, so the vet prescribed an anti-inflammatory for her.
