  • Most goats do make birth look pretty easy, except for the first fresheners. They're usually pretty freaked out! We let the does eat their placenta. Most of them do. If they don't start eating it within 10 or 15 minutes, it generally means they're not interested, so we take it away. It has lots of nutrients in it, which is why we let them eat it.
  • I always so bad for the moms ^^ - child birth hurts!! But how come they get off so easy and birth so quickly!! Your kiddings are so calming - bless its little heart - just hanging there :) I have read to remove the afterbirth so they dont eat it. I thought that was a good natural thing? just curious. Count down for us, first doe to be bred mid October
