Hi Pauline and welcome! You've posted your comment on your own wall, so it's unlikely that people will see it. I hope you'll introduce yourself in the forum. Just click on "Forum" at the top of the page, then click on "Add" to add a discussion to introduce yourself. I think you're our first member from Yukon, although we have quite a few other Canadians here. I'll be heading to Toronto in July to speak at a food festival. Looking forward to getting to know you better. You are dealing with some VERY cold temperatures up there!
Thank you for letting me join your website. We own a small dairy goat farm near Whitehorse, Yukon. We have had goats for about 5 years and this past year have started to join Nigerian Dwarf goats to our herd of Nubians. Yukon give its own challenge with weather of -50 degrees celcius and very little goat breeders/farmers in our area. We love our goats and are presently waiting for our Nubian/Alpine doeling who 4th freshening is due tomorrow. She was bred with a purebred Nigerian Dwarf buck. If milking NG are as successful as Nubian milking, we would like to switch over to NG goats. I'm looking forward to learning lots about the health of NG goats.
