miscarriage?

Our does were with a buck from Oct 1-27.  Unfortuntly, while feeding one of them this am I noticed some blood under her tail. I am so sad. At this point is there anything I should do for her?

  • Hi Rachel! Sorry I just saw your post. It's usually a good idea to put questions in the "Forum," rather than "Blogs" because people see the Forum posts more.

You don't need to do anything for your goat if she miscarried, but you might want to look at her diet. A deficiency in copper and/or selenium will cause fertility problems, abortions, stillbirths, and so on. It's really sad to have a doe give birth three weeks early! Check out the discussions in the Forum on copper and selenium, and if you have any questions about your goats' diet, be sure to post in the Health section of the Forum!

    Good luck!
