Tammy Gallagher replied to Philip Hopkins's discussion Underdosed-what to do?
"Hi Philip! I know that Deborah has back to back calls for most of the day, so I wanted to pop in here. I am sure y'all will cover all of this info in your chat too. A FAMACHA of 2 isn't typically treated, but certainly warrants watching if…"

Tammy Gallagher replied to Maggie's discussion Penis sticks out of sheath
"If it were me, I would have a vet take a look at that. It may be the angle of the photo, but it looks huge compared to the normal tip of the penis, and I do not see a urethral process. The anatomy just does not look correct. Has it always been that…"

Tammy Gallagher replied to Jocelyne Bourque's discussion no stand-no milk
"I'm going to see if Deborah has any other wisdom to add to try to get her up on the stand. I have Nigerians, so it is easy to just pick them up and put them up there when they are first learning, if they wont go up on their own. You may end up…"

Tammy Gallagher replied to Jocelyne Bourque's discussion no stand-no milk
"Hi there Jocelyne- I've never bred a goat that delivered a single, so I do not have experience to share with early milking of a newly freshened doe. Since my girls have always given me multiples, I start milk sharing at 2 months of age and by…"

Tammy Gallagher replied to Maggie's discussion Polled questions
"There MUST be a polled parent for a kid to be polled. A polled aunt, uncle, grandparent, etc does not count. As Deborah mentioned above, sometimes a goat is mistakenly disbudded, but is actually polled, and then they start 'mysteriously'…"

Tammy Gallagher commented on kenneth spear's status
"Hi Kenneth- I am not familiar with fescue fungus. I have only ever fed alfalfa, coastal, and sudan hay to my goats. Let me see what I can find out. Deborah may have knowledge of this to share with you."

Tammy Gallagher replied to Leslie Honcoop's discussion Doe turned aggressive
"I wish we had a magic answer for you on curtailing this behavior! But yes, that's what I do with my Queen Bee. I remove her from the area when we have guests or visitors just to keep everyone safe. =)"

Tammy Gallagher replied to Leslie Honcoop's discussion Doe turned aggressive
"Hi Leslie! If I had to guess, I would say that this is due to a change of hormones. The fact that the kidding was traumatic is just coincidental. I too have a very sweet doe that had a change in personality after having her first kids. Over the last…"

Hi, Tammy. Good to meet you. My family has a small homestead in the Texas Hill Country and we raise a herd of 4 Nigerian Dwarf, 1 Boer, 1 African Pygmy and 5 Nigora Goats. Four of our does are currently pregnant, three of which are for the first time, and all due this April. We survived the recent snow and are excited for Spring. I am happy to be here with all of you. Thank you for the welcome.
