Night Of The Creeping Burglar Goats!!

So last night I was alone in the house and a bit nervous when I went to bed. About midnight, something woke me. I heard thunder and wind outside, and saw lightning flashing everywhere, and thought that was what woke me.

Then I heard this "click, click, tappity tap, click clack, clickity" noise coming from the kitchen. I thought maybe it was the ceiling fan. Then I thought it was a burglar.  O.O

Finally I got up the nerve to get out of bed and flip on the light switch. And what did I see?

5 little goat faces looking up at me, with guilt written all over them. I hadn't latched the door properly that evening, and it blew open in the wind. The clicking was their little hooves on the tile floor as they walked around exploring.  XD

They know they aren't permitted to be in the house, so when they saw me, they all scuttled for the door. "Oh no!! Mom caught us!"

I wish I'd gotten a picture of their guilty little faces. Absolutely the funniest thing I ever saw. I don't normally "ROFL", but this time I did!

That's hysterical! Good thing you woke up - next thing you know, they have the popcorn out and be lounging on the couch watching TV.

I've never seen a goat look guilty, so I'd love to see a photo. Mine pretty much give me a "so what? What are you going to do about it?" face when they've been naughty.

They know the people have the food . . . they know the people live in the house . . . therefore the food is in the house . . . and I am going there!

  • Hilarious!  (Honestly, it would be relatively easy to stage it because they *will* be back.<g>)  And we want photos!

First I need to say I have an enclosed patio which is off the garage which is off the kitchen; this leaves two doors between the patio and the kitchen.  When I had mine living on the patio, I sometimes forgot to latch the gate to the garage and I would look up to see someone standing looking at me.  One day, mom brought her babies in and when I came back to the kitchen was quite surprised.  They know the people have the food . . . they know the people live in the house . . . therefore the food is in the house . . . and I am going there!

  • I am thinking I might try to stage it again so I can get a picture...just conveniently leave the door unlatched and hide out with a camera. The instant when I turned the light on, before they realized it was me and looked guilty, the looks of naughty glee they were wearing were absolutely hysterical!

  • Oh my that is hilarious!!!  After I had heart attack, I would have been ROFL too!  It is too bad you didn't get a picture, it would have been priceless. :D

  • LOL!  That's too funny!  :)  Must have been cute, after the fright was over.
