Introduction

Hi, My name is Kayleen and I have a dream of having a functioning self sufficent homestead in northeast AZ. We have the land, garden, solar/wind power, and the chickens. We don't have goats yet, but want to add them this year. I am here to learn anything and everything I can. I want to have the goats for milk, land benefit and for my children to learn how to raise them.

  • Wow! We have a member on here from Alaska who was/is in the same position. Very interesting.

We didn't have a choice about the solar/wind. The power lines are about 10 miles away. We do have back up generators. Thank you for the welcome.

  • Welcome to the group! Sounds like we're headed down the same path. We've been on our homestead for almost eight years now, and we're making great strides in providing much of our own food. We haven't been able to add the wind or solar power yet, but it's on our wish list. I hope you'll post some pictures of what you're done so far.
