Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goats

for people who love the littlest dairy goats

MiniMe is at day 150 today!! Her udder popped today, and her sides look like the babies have settled, so I'm checking on her every couple hours. No mucus yet, and she's still eating a bit, so I think it will be a while still... but things are coming along!

This is Mini's first freshening. I'm excited to see how her udder plays out. Her momma doesn't have the best production, but her teats are a dream for milking. I'm hoping Mini's dad will provide her with some good milking ability in the production area. It's obvious that she's got her mom's genes for teats. :)

ETA:

OK, people. I suck at knowing when a goat is ready to kid ANY SECOND. lol It's official.

I have been checking the stinker EVERY TWO HOURS... nothing all day. No changes in behavior, nothing. So I decide I'll go into town for lunch. Come back, nothing. So we leave our house around 1:30 ISH... to go to the inlaws to use their tax program and get the taxes done. I am home BEFORE THREE. Two kids on the ground. One being cleaned by the LGD, the other on the ground nearly dry with mom cleaning it. SERIOUSLY!?!? If it wasn't for that stinking dog... lol Good thing she's a good midwife. So I have not one, but TWO beautiful baby girls! Both with blue eyes like their daddy. I'll be keeping one of them, I think.
