Hi, we are excited to have our 3 baby girls and mama. They sleep in a wonderful goat stall at night next to our horse es in their stalls. Our goats are adjusting to us and their new environment. Every thing seems to be going in right direction for all. They have a fenced1/3 acre with stumps and rocks to climb on , a cute goat house that we made out of plywood.
we have portable fencing to move them around in eventually. ... most important right now is for them to feel loved and comfortable here!
Thank you Janie. I am starting a search for a polled pregnant Nigerian Dwarf Goat for our summer youth ministry on the farm. If you know of anyone close to Iowa/South Dakota that would have one I would appreciate it.
Thank you for adding me!! I’m really excited to be a part of a group with so much information to help us keep our goats healthy & happy as naturally possible:) We have a small heard of 4 mini nubian does, 4 nigerian dwarf does, 2 mini nubian bucks & 1 nigerian dwarf buck. They are a precious part of our family and we love them to pieces!
I'm not really sure how this works. I'm really excited to learn new things but I'm really not finding any information. I bought a book called raising goats holistically. So far I love this book and this is how I plan to raise my goats.
Thank you for the welcome to the group. I enjoy reading the round about discussions. I have 2 7 year old beautiful girls that I have not breed my goats and they aren’t for milking. They are just spoiled loved pets that are buddies eith my 2 mini donkeys. One of my goats goes through a false pregnancy and her udders fill up. They go back down until two years ago. So this year the vet said you have to milk her. This has been for a couple of months now and I need the best advise to help get her to stop producing and dry up. I stopped giving her goat chow or any grain. I milk her every other day and get 2 cups each time. So any advice will be great. Thank you
