"It's a unique feeling when you are driving in a snowstorm and wondering if you are still on the road or in a field or, someone's drive way. I don't know Margaret, I was on a job site in Birmingham and it was pretty chilly down there."

"When our barn flooded, I disinfected the walls but I did not paint the wood in the stalls.  Once the wood dries, should it be whitewashed or painted?  Would that seal the wood and prevent bacteria or would it seal in the mold? I trenched…"

"I tried some kefir that a friend made from cow's milk, but I haven't made it yet with my own. It was a flavour that would take some getting used to, but something that I'd definitely like to try making. "

"Great!  Thanks, I will look them up.  I got some yogurt culture from the cheese making supply but I can't remember which one I got.  I want to try different types this year.  Have you tried the kefir?"

Marin Waddell replied to Misfits Farm's discussion Different types of yogurt in the group Making Dairy Products
"There are quite a few varieties of starter culture available and each one makes a slightly different kind of yogurt. One particular one that we tried last year had no "tangy-ness" to the flavour, and was the consistency of white glue. Yum…"

Different types of yogurt

So far, I have found the traditional type of yogurt, the greek yogurt (which I believe is yogurt allowed to drain using cheesecloth, correct?) and Skyr yogurt (using rennet).  Are there any others?See More

"I warm mine the same way I would for human babies... and test it on my wrist. If it feels cold there, I warm it more. If it feels hot, I let it cool until it just feels warm on my wrist. (the underside of the wrist)"
