"Thanks Deborah.  I have not heard that sound, and she does not appear to be grinding.  I guess I will just watch her closely as the weather turns."

"Congratulations on pulling her through as far as you have. That's incredible!  When goats are in pain, they grind their teeth. That's how we knew when it was time to put down my doe that had skin cancer on her rectum. When we realized…"

signs of pain

I have an 8 year doe, Clover, she is one of my first two goats and has a special spot in my heart.3.5 years ago she contracted meningeal worm, the parasite attacked her spinal cord.  At her worst her back legs were paralyzed, but with an outstanding vet, closely following a protocol of drenches and shots etc , a huge dose of luck and months of physical therapy she rehabilitated to the point that she was able to get around OK with just a bit of a limp.  We knew she would never be a milker again,…See More

I looked up his pedigree and will send you details tomorrow. He's registered with ADGA. Sire's bloodline is mostly Chenango Hills and dam's bloodline is mostly Dawnland. Chenango Hills has many milk stars and national milking awards.

Hi,

He has scurs- horn scurs- not scours. He's very healthy.

I need to look up the boys' pedigrees for you. The buckling did sire kids, for a woman I had originally sold him to. But then she decided she didn't like his color (brown and white) and wanted more colorful goats. I have both of his parents and they're wonderful goats, so I took him back and have been trying to decide whether to sell him. He has scurs, so I wouldn't charge very much for him. His dam is a good milker. I should be able to send you details of his bloodlines tonight or tomorrow.
