Hi. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with her being pregnant, or not, but, my doe who is 139 days pregnant, seems to be losing the hair on top of her head. As far as I can tell, (this is our first time!) she seems healthy in every way. The hair has been thinning the last week or so. We have 6 goats, and she is the only one that I am noticing that has the hair loss. She does seem to ram into one of the others quite frequently. But I wasn't sure if that would cause the hair loss. I tried to get a picture, but she wouldn't stand still for me! I'm not sure what to do, or if I should do anything.

  • There's nothing in particular about hair loss on top of the head. If she's losing it in other places also, i'd check her over for lice.
  • Ok, so for now just let it be?
  • I'm with Julianne. I'd think she's rubbing her head against something or someone.

  • Could she be rubbing her head against something to help her cope with the discomfort of being at the end of her pregnancy?
