Intro to Capracreek Mini Farm

Thank you for adding me to the Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goat forum.  We have a small mini farm in NW Missouri near Kansas city.  We love our little Nigerians and we love our goat milk!!!  We have learned so much in the last few years about these wonderful little goats and enjoy their antics.

The first picture is of our little buckling born last year - Capracreek Moonlight Dreamer - we call him Dreamer.  He is out of our little Lilith.   We are excited to watch him grow up and hopefully step up to be our first home bred Nigerian buckling.

  • I started out saying that I wasn't going to milk after the weather started getting cold, and I dried up my one doe in October that first year. But by then we had all become addicted to the goat cheese and yogurt. We missed it SO much that winter that we've had goats in milk year-round since 2003 except for a two-week period one year when I accidentally got goats pregnant too close together.  It was such a sad two weeks!

  • Thank you all - we have 15 goats total - and yes we do milk part of the year.  I am a fair weather girl so no winter milking for me.  I had never had goat milk but I can tell you I love it.  My hubby build me a milk stand and it works great for milking.

  • What an adorable little guy!

  • Welcome to the group! How many goats do you have? Do you milk?
