  • Agreed.  Happy goats produce better milk and happy kids.  I cannot imagine taking kids away from their moms; my gut tells me it's better to leave them together.  With my tiny herd (and *not* considering bottle feeding with mom there), I certainly have no informed information to give except I have happy does and my Capri is producing 40+ percent cream again this year.  Moms know best and especially our ND goat moms who are already smarter than most people. <g>

  • That is very interesting! Thanks for sharing. I agree that happy goats produce more and richer milk and raise happy kids. I love that they did this study and it proves that it's better to let dams raise kids!
