I have a screamer!

I don't know if anyone has any solutions for this, but I have one NGD that is a non-stop screamer. Not cute little bleats but full on loud and annoying screams. He is adorable and we love him but I am extremely noise sensitive (thank you Fibromyalgia) and it is driving me nuts. The other three goats (one NGD, two pygmies) will occasionally bleat - and occasionally scream if we are out there and they want let out, but they are fairly quiet for the most part. The one I'm referring to doesn't care if he's in or out, eating or not (screams with his mouth full), or if you are even outside of the house or not. I know they are smart, is there a way to train them not to do it - like you would a dog not to bark all the time?? They were born on 4/16/13 and we'll have had them a year on June 9th. He has always been noisy and I was hoping he would grow out of it but he hasn't.  They are both super sweet and lovable, handled daily, loved on, and in good health but the noise is something else. Thanks in advance for any suggestions you may have.

  • No, he stayed with his mother until we picked him up. I HOPE he stops soon!! I have to wear my iPod with earphones blaring music when I am out there cleaning stalls so he doesn't drive me batty. I always tell him he is lucky we love him! ;)

  • Is he a bottle baby?

  • Oh, I had a little buckling who yelled like that. He. Drove. Me. Crazy! For at least a year. I hated to go out and work in the garden because I thought he would pierce my eardrums. Then he suddenly stopped. His son did the same thing. Now he is fine, too. Hopefully, yours will stop soon, too.
