Hooray!!!!

I have a doe who I bought a while back to keep my whether company, who I bought for $100 from a guy who told me (not in very good English either!) that she wasn't a particularly good quality doe, and since she was in a small dirty barn, covered in mud, with  looong untrimmed hooves, and very skinny I was pretty sure he was right. I wasn't looking for a show goat, and I hated to see her mistreated like that, so I bought her. Good thing too! It's been a couple months now, and she's cleaned up real nice. She looks great, although up until yesterday I still thought she wasn't a good quality doe (still going on the word of  the seller). With a little more experience under my belt than when I bought her, I started looking at her registration papers and her pedigree. Turns out, my "poor quality" doe has some pretty impressive bloodlines!  Needless to say I am VERY excited!! Yayy!!

  • Her registered name is Weathertop Farms GG Nut ( it's pronounced Newt, and that's not my farm) but we call her Elf. I don't have any before pictures as she was too scared for me to get near her, but she's the blond/gold/tan colored one in my photo albums on here.  She's a little fuzzier now than when I took the pictures, and maybe gained a little weight too, but otherwise she looks the same. I'm really glad I was able to give her a better home, and the great bloodlines are an unexpected bonus!

  • Congrats, that's awesome!! I would love to see pictures also.  I too have rescued animals in poor quality.  Its awesome to see how they blossom with good food and a little love...

  • Hej from Sweden!

Good bloodlines or not, it's a real good thing you gave her a better home. For me it's more important that your little girl is where she is loved and cared for properly!  I'm sure she is really happy. What's her name?? Will you post some before and after photos?

    Lucky little girl!

  • I agree with WG4!! Pics!!

  • How exciting! Do you have a picture of this "poor quality" doe you can post? Love to see what you've done with the gal! :)
