Hello from Montana

Hi, I am new to this list and happy to be able to finally connect with a Nigerian Dwarf community! My family and I are from Bozeman, MT and have a small herd of NDs and a small flock of Icelandic sheep as well.  Currently I am a licensed veterinarian and practice alternative medicine (acupuncture/herbs) with a small animal emphasis.  While I am not an expert small ruminant practitioner I have accumulated a pretty good working knowledge through my own experiences and from some of the Continuing Education classes I take through various veterinary conferences that I attend. There are some topics I hope I can contribute to and other topics I hope I can learn more about from this group :)

I have been raising NDs for about three years now and my herd is still small, consisting of four does and three bucks.  Can't wait for the kids, expecting the first set in about 6 weeks.  The girls are already huge so I always get a little nervous knowing they have so much more time to gestate and grow bigger!  These goats have been a true joy to raise and I hope to expand my knowledge through the variety of forums this group offers.  If you want to meet my goats (or sheep) you can follow this link to my home page and find the goats in the drop down menu.  Looking forward to being part of this group!
