Goats and Dried Cornstalks

Okay. So I heard a rumor once that dried cornstalks and leaves are good for goats because of they provide fiber. Can anyone verify this? I am thinking this is just story someone told me, but since we have this discussion forum, I thought I'd use it!

  • Deborah,

My goats shred any all cornstalks in sight, so they must not be related to your goats!! LOL. But I was just making sure it was okay for them. And if other people's goats ever ate them! I guess mine are the strange ones!! LOL

BTW, Hansel is now at least an inch taller than his mommy!! And is running up to me more, of course he is looking for food, but it's a start!! He is starting to look more like a male, and less like a little kid!

  • I don't know how "good" they are for goats, but they'd probably be okay for them. I've offered corn stalks to my goats before, and they wouldn't eat them. You could offer them to your goats though. I think mine are kind of picky sometimes. They won't eat a lot of things that people say their goats love.
