I have read on some lists that it is dangerous to have just 1 layer of fencing between girls and boys. With Nigerians- is it really possible for them to breed through 2x4 inch wovern wire fencing. At 20 weeks, my bucklings will be moving to permanent quarters away from girls but until then??????

The heat has been brutal, Bev!! So far so good with the animals, but this over 100 degree thing in JULY is the pits. So sorry to hear about your chicken!! I just had two baby chicks hatch in this misery!!

yep. My smaller fencing is smaller than the no climb fence you're talking about, Bev... I have a doe I have only bred once, but have gotten babies from THREE TIMES. All from the bucks finding a way.
I earlier said I didn't see how the buck could breed thru a very tight -small holed fence. My nubian buck shared a fence line for several years with no problem. I guess nigerians are more agile. My one little doe is pregnate I just noticed (thought she was just getting fat at first) and it had to be a fence breeding.
Hot wire went up today along most of the fence. The only remaining fence not wired is a strip of fence I think is called horse fence. The holes are abt 2"x 4" long and I can close a gate to keep does out of that area if anyone is in heat. I was very wrong.
YES. It's possible. I have had the same doe end up pregnant TWO YEARS IN A ROW now through small fencing. (Cattle Panels, with sturdy plastic fencing 3' and below.) This year, I didn't notice that my electric fence had grounded out, and the bastard got her through it all.
