Fence Problem need help asap!!

We have 2 wethers that will be 1 year old in June neither of them were dehorned. One of them has recently started sticking his head threw the field fence and getting it stuck when he tries to get out. I'm leaving tomorrow for 2 weeks and my girlfriend works full time. We are really worried that he may seroulsy hurt himself or die if he gets stuck and cant get out. I was thinking about using a weed wacker to cut all the grass and vegetation away from the fence till I can come up with a better solution. I would like to replace the fence with 2x4 but it will be a little while till I can afford it. Any help in the mean time would be great! I was trying to think of something possible like a cone for a dog but doubt that would work well. Thanks

  • Yes that does make sense, it will be worth a try!

  • I have not tried this myself because I don't keep horned goats, but I've heard of people using duct tape to tape a stick or dowel to their horns so that it sticks out to the side of their head, and they can't get their head through the fence. Basically it makes a triangle with the horns. It makes their head wide enough that it won't fit through the fence openings. Does that make sense?
