Anyone have instances where a doe is bred and then still shows standing heat signs in three weeks? I have a doe that was bred in November and then rebred in December because she was in standing heat. She is two months away from her kidding date from December and is scary huge. Wondering what the likelihood that the November date actually took. Thanks in advance.

Just to update cocoa finally kidded on April 29th. 149 days from the second kidding date. She had two big twin boys! Five and six pounds. One was breech but luckily things worked out and they are doing well.
She's my only one that is part larger breeds. She's 1/4 nigerian but all my other goats are Nigerians or dwarf crosses so I'm really not sure what to expect with her. She was bred to a full nigerian though.
She is half oberhasli and half mini alpine so we weren't sure if she would have a 150-160 range gestation or a little shorter due to her and the babies nigerian genetics. Since she has gone past 160 I agree that she's on track for the next date now whether its 145 or 150 days!
Does don't go over their due dates by that many days (161 from the first breeding) so I'd say you're right on target for a due date with the second breeding! Can't wait to hear how many she had!
Well she hit 161 days from first breeding and 138 from second date and is huge. Babies bulging out on both sides. She's getting close but nothing yet! Ill update when she kids. We are thinking quads or big triplets

OH! I didn't remember/realize she's a larger breed doe! That's a good call, to assume a possible longer gestation on her, then.
