I've had difficulties getting my does to settle, so I'd like to try BoSe shots but have a few questions:
BoSe shots or gel? which is more effective?
If I go with the shots, what dosage do I administer?
We've just moved to a rural area and the local farmers co-op doesn't have much by way of supplies. Who can I purchase BoSe from online?
Will they sell the needles and syringes?
What size needles?
How often should I be giving BoSe shots?

I use the free-choice selenium E at my farm as well and I have been very pleased at how well they eat it. It's comforting to know you don't have to worry about them getting enough selenium this way. The bucket lasts a long time because they don't inhale it like they do the kelp ;)
BoSe is the name of an injectable selenium and vitamin E supplement that is available by prescription from a vet. It is much more concentrated than the oral selenium gel supplements, which is an incredibly low dosage. If you really have a selenium problem, a single oral dose won't do much. It's kind of like us taking a single vitamin.
You can get an oral supplement that can be put out free choice just like other loose minerals. I buy it from Caprine Supply and have been using it for three or four years, and my fertility has been about the same as when I was doing the injectable.
You might also look at the possibility of copper deficiency, especially if you have well water with high sulfur or iron. If you have Raising Goats Naturally, it's all explained in there.
