Bolusing question

I've searched high and low and I can't find a good answer. My goats have figured out that I hide copper boluses in oatmeal/peanut butter treats and they refuse them now. I tried top dressing the grain and dribbling a bit of molasses on it but that's not working either. If they were dogs I would just stick it down their throats but I'm worried about doing it with goats because I'm not as comfortable with their anatomy. Is there a good way to bolus them directly without accidentally getting it in their trachea?

  • You can use a suppository applicator, which you can buy online. (Or you can buy a yeast medication and get 7 applicators for way less.) Watch the video on here about how to drench a goat. Process is the same. You want to get it at the back of the mouth. You don't want to use your fingers because those molars are sharp!
