ANDDA membership drive

The American Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Association is an official breed club recognized by ADGA & AGS to promote the Nigerian Dwarf as a dairy animal. As stated on the club's website (http://ANDDA.org), "the purpose of ANDDA is to promote and ensure the continued vitality of the Nigerian Dwarf goat as a true miniature dairy breed by: * Seeking recognition equivalent to that bestowed on the standard-sized dairy breeds. * Serving as the national Nigerian Dwarf goat breed association that represents Nigerian Dwarf goat breeders to multi-breed dairy goat registries. * Increasing breeders understanding of dairy goat management and conformation. * Encouraging closer fellowship among the Members through meetings, correspondence and the circulation of useful information, news and ideas. * Promoting the use of goat products, including, but not limited to, milk and milk products. * Cooperating with other organizations in the development of the dairy goat industry in general." ANDDA is excited to have recently approved sponsoring awards at the ADGA & AGS National Shows this year. This is the first year that Nigerians will be competing at the ADGA Nationals, so now, more than ever, is a great time to get involved in your official breed club. The club also has some really wonderful programs to help promote your breed and your herd, including very affordable contests to provide recognition for accomplishments you achieve elsewhere, such as milk production awards (JuJu), show wins (All-American), and ADGA Linear Appraisal and AGS Classification (Total Performer). The club also has published listings of members with contact information, animals earning "Excellent" in LA or Classification for the first time, and Best in Show winners. All in all it's a great place to gain exposure and network with other breeders. As one of your Western District Directors, I would be thrilled to see more people active in the club. We're having a new/renewal membership drive and offering temporarily discounted dues. It's just $10 to join as a new member if you elect to receive your newsletter electronically and just $10 to renew regardless of how you elect to receive your newsletter. You can renew online and use a credit card through PayPal to pay your dues, even if you don't have a PayPal account. The following is a message from our PR Chairman regarding the membership drive. Greeting ANDDA members ! It is that time of year, when we all receive annual dues reminders from various clubs and registries of which we belong. Some of us are active in multiple hobbies and breed clubs of various types and it can be quite overwhelming at times in both remembering to renew and cost. Your board of directors passed a motion today LOWERING the renewal rate for existing members from $15.00 to $10.00 , if the renewal is complete by January 30, 2010 !!!! Our treasury is stable - we have budgeted for support for the national shows and administrative matters - and with many members now receiving their newsletter via an electronic version, we have reduced expenses in printing and postage. Why not renew today while it is on your mind by visiting our website www.andda.org and click 'pay your 2010 dues'. The discount will be an option in the drop down menu on the subsequent page. This would also be a good time to take a look at your membership and breeder listing on the website and make sure your information is correct in all areas. Any changes should be sent to the webmaster Margie Dykstra at goats@blythmoor.com While you are at it - why not recruit another member? During this same time, the club is offering new members the same discount!!!! There are some great things happening in the upcoming year - and your breed club will be there to support you in your success! Happy New Year ! The Board of Directors Jane Bailey PR Chairman
